Funeral planning workshop that presents new, alternative and highly affordable options. Death without Debt is a national organisation campaigning and educating around funeral debt and dignity. Workshop topics include: funeral planning, wills and powers of attorney; advance care plans and probate; when you need a coffin and when you don’t and coffin alternatives; pros and cons of cremation vs burial and steps to reduce dependence on the funeral industry.

Waimate Winter Folk Festival

A homely musical gathering run by Dunedin Folk Club for performers and enjoyers of folk music of all ages and levels of skill, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Unlike most music festivals, we don't employ professionals to entertain us, rather we have the opportunity to create our own entertainment (not compulsory). Members of the public are asked to be seated inside the Waimate Event Centre by 10:20am.
Returned Personnel (wearing medals) are invited to assemble outside the Waimate Event Centre at 10:25am. There will be a parade to the Memorial Clock after the service for the laying of wreaths. All members of the public wearing family medals on the right chest are welcome to march with the returned services personnel.
